Layers of Life

Last weekend, I headed up to the Colorado mountains near Estes Park for a family camping trip. It was one part birthday celebration for my niece who turned five and many more parts rest, relaxation and reflection. On Saturday we ended up journeying through Rocky Mountain National Park and up the majestic Trail Ridge Road. When we started it was about 80 degrees and by the time we stopped near the top the mercury had dipped near 60 degrees with a fierce, oxygen-deprived wind to add to the temporary climate shift. We in Colorado are lucky to get the chance to live in a state where God's paintbrush spent a lot of time creating beauty, grace and serenity. Here is my photographic version of that painting.
